The history of MEP
MEP was founded in 1964 by Enzo Magnani in Pergola, Italy — the name is an abbreviation of "Magnani Enzo Pergola". The first product was a fast, abrasive circular saw, the TV 300, which Magnani built in his own small workshop.
Over the decades, the company developed continuously: semi-automatic models appeared in the 1970s, machines with automatic material feed in the 1980s, and the band saw product family in the 1990s. In the 2000s, MEP became an international group, acquiring the Canadian company HYD-MECH in 2007, and later establishing manufacturing bases in China and Brazil as well. Since 2019, the MEP Group has been one of the five divisions of Groupe Legris Industries.
Today, with 4 production plants (Italy, Canada, USA, China), 280 employees, annual revenue of approximately 50 million euros, and exports to 65 countries, MEP is an internationally recognized player in metalworking saw manufacturing, producing around 4,000 machines a year across 75 different models.
